Painting in Public and Creating with Colour Events - As requested by Mole Valley Arts Alive, we are repeating the Painting in Public and Creating with Colour events this year in Dorking on Sat 27th Sept 10-4.
The Annual Exhibtion Visitors Vote was won by Margaret Heath for her watercolour ‘Summer Courtyard – Apollonia’ ….well done Margaret!
Chris Forsey had 4 paintings accepted for this years RI show at the Mall Galleries in March, and he was also the very lucky recipient of the "Matt Bruce Memorial Award" of £500 for light and colour in his paintings at the exhibition.
Tessa Spanton has been featured in a French magazine, Peinture sur Soie. For the next issue Tessa was asked to write an illustrated article with step by step instructions for two of the paintings.
Margaret Heath has been elected Associate Member of the Society of Marine Artists.
Chris Forsey won the F. Donald Blake prize at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours for one of his paintings at the Mall Galleries this year. Well done Chris!
Karen Pearson raised over £3000 for children with special educational needs at the charity exhibition at Denbies Wine Estate. Thank you to all who gave support.
The Moon Hall / Burys Court School Charity, both specialise in teaching dyslexic children and are local to Dorking. The money raised will go directly to help buy essential educational equipment for these children.
Other Exhibition Venues
Christian Centre, St Martins Church, Dorking provides DGA members with an opportunity to exhibit and sell their work all year round. This venue is open to both Full and Associate members. Please see newsletter for details.
